Getting real excited now as additionl panels are returned - can't wait to see them all. PVDA's annual raffle project for 2012 is a lazy susan with 5 interchangeable panels representing - spring, summer fall, winter and Christmas. Just received the 3rd panel - representing fall - painted by Lee Hickman.
It is a lovely additional to the Winter panel painted by Marge Estes andthe Spring panel painted by Mary Steingesser which were returned earlier this summer.
Tickets will be on sale in September. Remember purchase as many as possible and you might be the luck winner of this year's annual raffle item.

The summer is winding down and PVDA is returning from vacation on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
PVDA's membership will be conducting a marathon paint- in of Treasurer Boxes. Mary Steingesser has created three stencils suitable for children which will be applied to the boxes and enhanced by PVDA's members. When complete the boxes are given to small children in Shriner's Hospital providing a place to stash the little trinkets and goodies given to them to divert their attention while they undergo treatment or tests.

PVDA Members enjoyed a fun day of celebrating Christmas in July with a holiday themed raffle, pot luck lunch and holiday baner. As usual, the food was just pentiful and so delicious. I wonder if all decorative painters are as good a group of cooks as our chapter enjoys -- always eat too much.
We didn't finish painting the banner, but progressed through all the steps so members all know how to complete it at home. A really fun, time consuming but easy to execute project.

This is just perfect weather for painters -- gives us an excuse to stay inside, relax and paint. Just too hot to be outside gardening or running errands - perfect inside to sit and complete your latest masterpiece. Plenty of time to start a new project and work on it as every day for the next week will be over 90 degrees and humid. A good excuse for me - so am looking at completing some projects - hope you are also. Let me know what you are working on. Pat
